Kleoniki Alexopoulou is a PhD Researcher within the VIDI-Project ‘Is Poverty Destiny? Exploring Long Term Changes in African Living Standards in Global Perspective’ at the Rural and Environmental History Group at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. Her research focuses on the role of fiscal and labour regimes in state and social transformations in Portuguese Africa during the colonial era (1850s-1970s).
