Denis Cogneau is Professor at Paris School of Economics (PSE) and senior researcher at Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) and at the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD). His past works deal with the distributive impact of social and economic policies in Africa and the economic development of Africa over the long term. He currently coordinates the research project “Political Economy of Colonialism” financed by the French National Research Agency.
