Racial Disparities in Human Capital: Numeracy in South Africa, 1850-1980
María del Carmen Pérez Artés is an Assistant Professor at the University of Almería (Spain) in the area of Economic History and Institutions. She holds a PhD from the University of Tübingen (Germany). Her main research interests lie in the development of human capital, economic history from a gender perspective, and the historical connections between North Africa and southern Spain.
