Leigh Gardner

Leigh A. Gardner is a Professor of Economic History at the London School of Economics and Research Affiliate at the University of Stellenbosch. She is the author of several books on African economic history, including Taxing Colonial Africa: The Political Economy of British Imperialism (2012), Economic History of Colonialism (2020), co-authored with Tirthankar Roy, and Sovereignty without Power: Liberia in the Age of Empires, 1822-1980 (2022).
