Kofi Takyi Asante is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research at the University of Ghana. His research lies at the intersection of political, economic, and historical sociology. His substantive research areas include sociology of development, corruption, state formation, and citizenship. His publications have appeared in Studies in Ethnicity and Nationalism, African Economic HistoryGhana Studies, and International Journal of Politics, Culture, and Society, among others. He studied at the University of Ghana, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Northwestern University. Before joining ISSER, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse (IAST).
